SANDAKAN: A lovers’ kiss and make up drive ended in tragedy. The young couple had earlier quarreled after having dinner at a
seafood restaurant on December 15 and after that they went off
separately. Then at around 10pm, the man, 29, called at his fiancee’s house in Taman Sejati to patch things up.
They went for a drive in the man’s 4WD vehicle hoping to resolve their differences. However, several hours later, tragedy struck. Nineteen-year-old
Noraziah Masran jumped out of the moving vehicle as they were passing
the roundabout at Jalan Airport around 3.15am the next day after telling
her fiancé she wanted to get off the vehicle. She fell and knocked her head against the road shoulder.
In a panic, the fiancé rushed Noraziah to the hospital but she
succumbed to her injury at about 7am, less than four hours after the
incident. The man then lodged a police report and was held briefly to facilitate investigation. Police have classified the incident as sudden death and a post-mortem was conducted yesterday. Sandakan district police chief, ACP Rosli Mohd Isa has confirmed the incident.
