SANDAKAN: A forest ranger with Sabah Forestry Department reported
missing nine days ago was yesterday found dead at Lungmanis Forest
Reserve in Jalan Sandakan-Telupid. The body of Alisius Piging Ampin, 51, was found at 11.30am about two
kilometres from the watch station to safeguard the forest against
intruders.
Search and rescue operation leader Chief Insp Samsuri Anuar said Alisius was fully clothed with a waist pouch containing personal documents intact. He said the body was sent to Duchess of Kent Hospital for a post-mortem to identify the cause of death. Jelinah Ampin,46, said the remains of his brother would be buried in their kampung in Telupid. She thanked PDRM, Fire & Rescue Department, Rela, Civil Defence Department, General Operations Force and the Sabah Forestry Department for finding the body
